Friday, April 23
We arrived very early to Hanoi. We got a taxi to the hotel Camelia 4th It is the most central location in Hanoi. I could not imagine living anywhere else than here. There is a great folk here. 100 meters from the hotel at the corner meet many backpackers from all nations. You can get beer for £ 1 We did a little tour "walk" after breakfast. This applies to quickly learn our neighborhood to know. We walked along the small streets down to Hoan Kien Lake. This is a good central point for Hanoi. On the way back I ordered bicycles. Steen, Jette and I had bikes and Benno and Gerda took motorcycles. We made a little tour of Hanoi. We drove many miles along the West Sea, a lovely promenade walk. On the way back I bought tickets for the Water Theatre. We saw the show in the Water Theatre at 18:30 and then we went out to eat.

Jette was sorry that we should not ride anymore. We ate near the hotel and got good food at Little Hanoi. A really good dining out. Thuy and her husband showed up when we had to eat. They had eaten. Agreed with eating Thuys parents Saturday. 19:30. It was again a nice lunch. Thuy was in my room to retrieve clothing. I got it as she had kept from last year. Resturationen we ate at the Ancient Town 89 Hang Bac. The evening ended on Calvin and Jette's room with coffee, tea and cappuccino.

Today we visited Ho Chi Minh mausulæet. We drove early leaving. Cloakroom for bags closes already at. 10:30. After seeing Ho Chi Minh, we went through the park, where there are always many people. All Vietnamese must see mausulæet least once in their lives. They come from all parts of the country. It is also used to visit schools mausulæet. We walked slowly through mausulæet in icy cold, you have to go all the time and no talk. It is very solemn considerably. When we came out and had been provided with our fotografuapparater we continued. The first thing we encountered was a large yellow building. It is the old governor building and later government building. Now, the guest house by fine visit. The actual park is also worth a visit because it is very well maintained. We are now arrived at Ho Chi Minh's official residence, now musæum. On the outskirts of the park we see the very famous one legged pagoda.

Further on is Ho Chi Minh musæum,. which is also very well maintained. The next place we visited was Littteraturmuseet as Hanoi old university. Again there were many people. Unfortunately, it was under heavy restoration, so we saw only half. Back to the hotel. There is an agreement with Khoa APPLICATION brillekøb. Benno, Gerda, Jette Steen and maybe need new glasses. I drove to the restaurant where we will eat tomorrow. I ordered the board to 29 people. This evening we dine with Thuys parents. We are running at. 19:00 for the home. Thuys sister came and picked us up. Again we got good vietnanmesisk food and met great hospitality. Thuys daughter has been great and is now 1 ½ years. We came back to the hotel around. at. 23:00 and everyone was tired so we went to bed immediately. Tomorrow awaits a city tour by car. Hanoi is growing. Khoa told me that with the new expansions live there now 8 million in Hanoi. When I first came in 1999, there were only three million.

Sunday, April 25
Today Sunday we have a great program. I have rented a car. First we drove to the modern Hanoi. It was along small roads, but we arrived at Sai Temple which is a very old temple / pagoda around. 2000-3000 years old. It is as old as the Cheops pyramid in Egypt and vitnamesrne is a udflugsmål that has great historical significance. Lunch we had at a Vietnamese restaurant. In the afternoon we drove to the Ethnic Musæum, who also had a large outdoor section. Sai temple I thought was exciting. There is a living temple, and here, many because of its history. Thuy and her cousin were with and they offer gifts. I had asked her. She showed the group how to do when you have sacrificial gifts. Thuy had many things to sacrifice. Many incense sticks and also here there was restoration. It must sometimes. Before we drove away total Thuy sacrifices in again. Only incense sticks and paper were burned in a furnace. We drove to Thuy Hien and opportunity. We ate lunch at a Vietnamese restaurant where Thuy had ordered the board. It was not as great an experience. Vietnamese restaurants are not the same when are unchanged tourists. All Vietnamese ate with and Jette Steen and I ate. Gerda and Benno could not eat anything. We drove to the ethnic museum. Jette did not think it was so good that you could not have explained the layout. There are texts at all. If we must have a guide is it for a whole day. So the conclusion is that I drop this trip as solid, but take it as an extra option. How can there be a difference. I must say that it has been a great experience for the Danish tour participants, so maybe I am thinking about it again. Tonight is a celebration and we are 28 people. There was a great party with wonderful food, western food. Vietnamese food can not suffer. It is strange and tastes different. It happened at lunch was not predict well for anyone. So I will never complete the trip to Sai temple and ethnic museum more because there are too many costs. Now we Mai Chau tomorrow.
