A comfortable flight from Copenhagen at. 14.30 and arrives in Bangkok at. 6.00. We flew to Saigon or Ho Chi Minh City and they landed at. 10.35.

We were picked up at the airport and staying at the Orion Hotel. All the suitcases came into my room which is used for the final shower before the train journey. We left the hotel at. 22.00 and was on the train to Da Nang at. 23.00. We leave the hotel at. 7.00 and the first stop is the "Cu Chi 'tunnels. They are approx. 250 km long. Mon built these tunnels during the long French occupation, which lasted 100 years. These tunnels were enlarged during heavy American war from 1955 to 1975.

Cl. 10.15 we went to Tay Ninh. Here is the main center of the religious movement Cao Dai. It is a complex religion of Christians Budism and Hinduism.

We had lunch in Tay Ninh. We drive back to Saigon. A little history. The 30 / 4 1975 was 20 years of suffering ended. Now the country rebuild. However, there were many problems in the beginning. Pol Pot from Cambodia occupied a part of South Vietnamese. He believed that Vietnam was very weak, so he could easily take a cake of Vietnam. It inhabits many Khmer, as Cambodians in the southern provinces. It took a month and then had earmarked Vietnam Pol Pot. There was kinerserne to move into the Northern province of Lao Cai, which is a very big city with 500,000 inhabitants. Chinese smashed throughout Lao Cai before the Vietnamese were driven kiniserne back. Now there were new times of great difficulty for Vietnam. The U.S. was the world to boycott all goods from Vietnam. There was great famine. It was at this time that all boat people came to Denmark from 1980 to 1990. Today there is a market economy in Vietnam. Vietnam has the second highest growth rate in the world, surpassed only by China. The growth rate in Vietnam is over 5% and in Denmark the growth rate is just 1%. Vietnam is emerging. In the evening we took the train from Saigon to Danang.
