Sunday, September 18
It was not Fansepan, the weather was not clear enough, yes it rained actually suffered. So we went to the Red Dzao (an ethnic minority originally from China), in the village of Ta Phien. Before we came to the village, we saw the burned church, which the Chinese burned as hævnagt due to Vietnam had entered Cambodia and had allocated Pol Pot. There was a big reception committee with Fam Mai in the lead. They followed us through the village. There were new developments in Tá Phien: many orchid fields and several homestays, where tourists can stay. And many gasoline-powered tillers instead of water buffalo, to knead the rice fields. Almost at the end of the village located Fam Mais house. We were seated with snaps and tea. She had 6 American tourists who spent the night in the house. It was hard to walk on the muddy paths. When we got to the rice fields, it was even harder. We went on høfterne between rice paddies, and there were three streams we had to climb. With great difficulty we came through. At one point I had 3 Dzao women to help me. In the square where our car kept, had bought things from those who had helped us. There were many who wanted to sell their goods, and there was also purchased in well. We drove back to the market, where Luyen made lunch for us; a slightly different lunch. Back to Hotel Lotus and deliver our bought stuff in the room. Now it was time for shopping in Sapa and massage. We got massages 3 different locations. Then a little "rum and coke" - and tea break. At 20:00 we eat dinner the same place as yesterday, after a day exploring.
