We said goodbye to Hai Yen in Hoi An. A special farewell to our little golden bird, Thao. Unfortunately, we see her no more here in Vietnam. It was a violent rainstorm at Luu yesterday, so we were excited about the weather today. Sunshine and good atmosphere at parting. First stop at "Marble Mountain". Do not cut marble of the mountain more so that all workshops have marble from many places, so they can process it here, where their workshops. There are many steps on the marble mountain, it takes a long time to get up and down, but it was worth the effort. Next stop Havan passport. It was clear weather, so that could be good pictures. We were at the hotel in Hue pm. 11:45, the bikes were ready so I biked to the boat to brief about the race tomorrow. Then to the deaf restaurant to book a table for lunch. Lis, John, Peter and I cycled, while Dorte had a bicycle taxi. After nice lunch got Dorte again a bicycle taxi to the Royal Palace and the rest of us cycled. Lis and John was dressed as a king and queen and we took many pictures. Royal Palace will be restored a little every year, but when might never be finished. We ate dinner at the restaurant Kangaroo Hue. There are so many children, running through the streets and drums as well as appearing in dragon costumes on the occasion of månedag 15 September. Here is still incredibly hot, so we are quite tired when we go to bed. P.S. All the temples in the Marble Mountain was built by Emperor "Minh Mang". On the visit to the royal palace, we saw an animated film of Emperor Khai Dinh, we see the mausoleum of Khai Dinh and Minh Mang tomorrow.

We had bikes from yesterday. Only Dorte had carried no other way. We started from Riverview Hotel in Hue pm. 7.30. All had been in my room with their luggage. We quickly got a bicycle taxi to Dorte. Both located on the pier 1249m from our hotel. We will sail on "Perfume River", Song Huong is the Vietnamese name. First stop Thien Mue Pagoda, a peaceful place. The place became known worldwide as a monk drove his car to Saigon, drove up in front of the presidential palace, poured gasoline over himself and lit himself on fire. The picture went around the world, it was the 1,963th It was President Diem's ??fall; public opinion turned against the war. At that time there were more than 750,000 Allied soldiers in Vietnam. Now everything breathes peace and tranquility. Next stop Minh Mang Mausoleum. Minh Mang was one of the great emperors and lived in the early 1800s. It is in a large park. We crossed the river and rode up to Khai Dinh mausoleum. He was the penultimate emperor and lived in the early 1900s. It is a completely different mausoleum. Many stairs up. It is built of limestone. The Mausoleum at the top is decorated with many mosaics. Again many stairs down and cycling back to the boat. Boat people had created a nice lunch. Oanh Li rang, she had just arrived from Hanoi and was on a business trip to Hue, Da Nang and Hoi An. She would come to the hotel and go out to eat with us.
