We arrived early morning to Hanoi at. 04:30. The rooms we got it immediately. After breakfast came Kien Anh and fetched us. We visited VN Design home workshops about 20 km outside Hanoi. This production is supported by DANIDA and is an exciting visit. We saw the production itself which seems very impressive. Dir Thang was busy as he was traveling to China next day. Kien Anh took good care of us. We ate lunch in the village, a lovely lunch. Was was back at the hotel at. 13.00, Most slept little and others went tours. Because we train from Lao Cai we had a train ticket to Diem. But we could not find her at the railway station in Hanoi. She had found the hotel and slept till late afternoon. Kl. 19:00 came Thuys man Hien and fetched us. The taxi was perhaps a little small for 9 people but I went. We had dinner at the Sun, which is sister to Thuy. We were eight, five Danish and Sew, My and Diem. Mon Mon had invited several guests. A lady and her husband and 3 children and a work colleague Thus man came also. We drove from the hotel at. 8.00. First stop was musæet of art. We made a quick examination of 1 hour. Then a bike ride around the West Lake "Two Tay". Sy, My, Diem and I cycled on a bicycle. We ate lunch in the Kinga and then we drove to Hoa Luu. Here was Vietnam's first capital at 968-1010. Capital since moved to Hanoi under the name of Thang Long. This name uses many still on Hanoi. Thursday, May 6
We had breakfast on the rooftop deck. Departure to National Park Cuc Phuong at. 9.30. I've never been there, so expectations were high. For me, a little disappointing. The National Park is enormous. This day is set aside for relaxation. So everybody did something differently. Benno and Gerda acted in. So did Stone and Jette. I visited the Sun from Mai Chau. After Breakfast we drove to the Army Museum. We did a little tour of Hanoi and is back at the hotel at. 12.15 for lunch and afternoon is free. Steen, Jette, Benno, Gerda, Sy and My took a taxi. We started to see the battle of Dien Bin Pu from 1954. The battle where the French were defeated.
