Monday 6 July

We reached the station in good time. Some tried to sleep a little, but at. 8:30 conductor came to collect orders at lunch on the train. He was absolutely no English, so it was done by means of drawings (pig, kebabs, canned colas, etc.) But all ended well and we got our very nice lunch served at. 11:00 on the train. Moreover, an exciting train right along with my only Vietnamese. They have shown many of them leave at the moment. The landscape was also exciting and varied, while it glided past the outside of the window by 11 hours. Henning had delivered some sweaters for 2 Vietnamese girls as a gift because they are so sweet out. We landed in Hue kl. 17 at a nice hotel called Hoa Hong Hotel. We were quickly accommodated and Henning slipped quickly down to the boat people to report his arrival tomorrow. Before that he had just shown the way to a nearby hotel with massage, swimming pool and much more, and earlier he had ordered a dinner for kl. 20:00 at a nearby hotel. There is something on this tour has to be said. Dinner was really good with squid and other sea. For dessert plenty of exotic fruit. All this for only 35 DKK + drinks. Since we have come to Hue, we have shifted out of Saigon Special "Huda" (Hue + Denmark). A brewery in Hue makes beer under license from Tuborg. For dinner had been invited and Hung Luu plus their 2 children (the deaf girl Chau at 15 and her big brother at 17). They will follow us the rest of the trip.

Tuesday 7 July

For once we got up late, we could sleep all the way to kl. With breakfast at 6:00. 6:30 and go cycling for both departing at the site. 8:00. After a good night's sleep in the beautiful beds at a nice hotel, we welcome surprised breakfast, which was the best we have experienced so far. The same applies to the way hotel. We were of course as always achieve a lot, but it rained when we were away, so we were all raincoats on. Weather fared well up during the day. We cycled down to smell the river Song Huong (named because it has all incense pegs down along the river). We discovered that there were many other scents that are mixed, including from flowers and fauna en route. Pressed by both space-awaited boat people on us, and we got bikes on board. Immediately went Henning started to release some of the clothes we had in the trunk. When it was over boat people started their little store of clothing, postcards, etc. It was shown enough bought something, but we mention no names. We visited the sights set on sailing trip along the river, first Thin Mu pagodas. Here we budhist a school where the children sat and read or chanted. Henning was declared to be a great Danish Budha. Then the manganese Minh mausoleum and finally Khai Dinh mausoleum, boring to look at from the outside but fantastic interior. Khai Dinh was the last emperor of Vietnam, he died in 1925 and was succeeded by his son, who was the last emperor until 1945. I think it was a nice experience for everyone. We ate lunch on the boat, very nice food for almost no money around. 20 kroner more than you can eat. We could choose to ride back to Hue, or take the boat back. We chose to cycle the 10 km back to Hue. On the way back, we passed a huge market. Here was everything for sale, clothes, fruit, watches. But one should be cautious with their prices, Josephine bought a dress for 150 kVD, but the seller started at 850 kVD. Girls with a kĝbegen can not stand for such a market and it sells well. If we had 4 men to halt, it was ended completely wrong. This evening we met at. 19:30 to cycle to Restaurant Royal Park. At Royal Park appointed an emperor and an empress, and it was unanimously agreed that it should be Preben and Janne because of their dignified appearance on the trip so far. The rest of the group was mandarines (fool - do not peel them Monday). Preben would have kept talking to his people, but after a couple glasses white wine had abandoned the idea. We were all dressed out and got a little finer caused menu (plates were decorated with figures which showed the court that we were eating). A fun and different experience in the old kejseby Hue. We cycled a delightful trip back to the hotel and went to bed early (because we were up early the next day).

Wednesday 8 July

Yet later in the day, at first. 6:30. Departure at. 8:00 to Imperial Palace on a bicycle. Imperial Palace is located behind the Citadel, with its high flagpole and the red flags can be seen everywhere in Hue. Imperial Palace was surrounded by a fĉstningsmur and was defended by Citadel just as the rest of the city of Hue did. Imperial Palace was bombed by the Americans during the Vietnam War and the only approx. 10% have been built up again. It is slow because it is a large area, which was smashed because of a senseless war. You can get a feel for how magnificent it has been off. It was this time Josephine and Lasse, who was Empress and Emperor. We are still waiting for a speech to followers. Janne and Rasmus took a trip on elefantryg inside the imperial palace. Then we cycled to the "The deaf and dumb restaurant", actually called the Lac Thien, here we got a nice meal for a cheap money, for example. boiled beef and vegetables noodles for only 8 kroner We need a final "Huda" before we leave Hue to Hanoi when we come, we'll cycle from the Tuborg Carlsberg. Now we have to drink "Halida" (Hanoi - Vietnam). Our train was already at. 13:30, but there was no other than the great us as we drove, but there were more people now. Then Henning could find anyone to visit for a chat and maybe a gift. Kl. 18:00, we had fried chicken with rice and vegetables on the train. Otherwise we just enjoyed the trip through the Vietnamese countryside. Kl. 23:00, we put ourselves to sleep and we slept until the train was in Hanoi at. 5:00 the next morning.
