Thursday, April 7
We were at the airport in Saigon received by Huong and Hope. Huong is the sister of Thuy. They came with came with a nice new car Toyota Innova, where our luggage snilt could be. We were over in a stormagesin and eat at Huong. 20.30. Huong paid for it all. They took with us the whole program. Hope and Huong would like, so they also could visit the cemetery in Hope's father. He died in sepember the 2010th We started at. 07.00 and drove toward Cu Chi Tunnels built by the Vietcong during the French occupation, but significantly larger than the American war. It must have been a hell for both vietnamersene and Americans when one considers all the ways you could slaughter each other. There are approx. 250 km tunnels. Where the tunnels were, there were no trees and shrubs. The Americans threw orange poison, so all vegetion disappeared. But nobody thought of it also killed people. Today there are many children who were born after 1975 when the war was over, which also has problems with hearing and legs. It was interesting to see these tunnels.

We then drove to a restaurant and had a nice lunch. The hostess is an old acquaintance. This was where we delivered some packages we had received in Heathrow and was similar in again to Denmark. It is very rational faith when you see what they exchange of gifts. Now it went back to Saigon. We visited the old presidential palace, now called the Independent musæum and Museum. It was here that a North Vietnamese tank drove through the gate and ended the war 30 / 4 1975th

20 years of suffering had ended. Now the country rebuild. There were many problems in the beginning. PolPot from Cambodia occupied part of South Vietnam. He believed that Vietnam was very weak. It inhabits many Khmer, which is Cambodia Africans in the southern provinces. It took one month to Vietnam had committed PolPot. He did however kill 2nd million of his own countrymen. This prompted the Chinese to move into the northern province of Lao Cai. Kinerserne smashed throughout Lao Cai, which today has 600,000 inhabitants before vietnamese was driven chinese back. Now there were new times of great difficulty for Vietnam. The U.S. was the world to boycott all goods from Vietnam. There was great famine. It was also around this time that all bådflygninge came to Denmark from 1980 to 1990. Today there is a market economy in Vietnam. Vietnam has the second highest growth rate in the world, surpassed only by China. Vietnam's growth rate is 4 times larger than Denmark. Vietnam is emerging. We had a lovely dinner with Hoang and Jump. They live just 50 meters from our hotel. They drove us to the station. We ate tonight at Huong with her 2 children aged 8-9 years and 14 years. Huong had been a part of it. We are about to train to Danang. at 23.00
