After 16-hour train ride, we were in Da Nang pm. 14. The car, which the hotel had sent off to fetch us, exactly. I had misunderstood Tao from Hanoi. She had said that she was at. 10 PM, but I had seen it at. 10 AM. It surprised me that she was waiting for us at the station, but I later found out that she would get at. 22nd All have rented bicycles, so we are ready for the big Cycling Day. We will be picked up by Anh pm. 9:00 and be on the trip to the islands in the river delta. We found a good restaurant on the harbor. Tomorrow we dare us off in traffic by bicycle.

Along the way the train, and one has the opportunity to rise out of action. It's just about getting back to the train in time!

It's the big Cycling Day. Anh has promised to lead. Robert and his little son at 3 also helped. We cycled down to the harbor and hired a boat. The trip takes about 15 minutes and there are many exciting things to see along the way. We docked at the shipyard. First stop was a wood carving. They make everything from thick Buddhas to chic loungers. So up on the bikes again. Now we went through an exciting agricultural landscape. Most are quite poor and there is also often floods. People were very interested in us. The children shouted at us in English and adults greeted smiling. We got a good insight into how ordinary Vietnamese people live. Last on the tour we were given the opportunity to taste freshly squeezed juice from sugar cane. It tasted really nice. After 3 hours of cycling we were back on the boat again. We sailed a different route back to where you really could study local fishing techniques. Back on the mainland again was delicious lunch at "Silver" Thaos expense. We made even small rispapirspakker with great content. They tasted wonderful. Then there was convicted shopping. We bought silk at Tom Tom, and then we visited the silver shop. The rest of the afternoon was relaxing. We eat at Luu tonight.

We were picked up at the hotel in taxi and taken to a harbor filled with very large speedboats. The trip was great, but it can probably be the boat jumped much on the water surface. Well over on the island we got a tour of the central city. We saw Pagoda and stalls. The first time I visited the island, there was almost no other tourists, but now it's getting a bit crowded. After the town was we sailed to a beautiful beach with palm trees and sun loungers. Thao got started on learning to swim. Lissi is a trained swimming teacher. Seven grandchildren, she has learned the art. After lunch we went back to Hoi An. We visited the silk factory. A place where they sell tailored clothes and doing silk embroidery art, but they also show how the silk thread and the fabric was made in the old days. Elisabeth fell for a smart silk jacket that can be reversed. Pm. 17 went to Luu's house to look at the teaching of English. She has a small private school for primary schools children. They sang songs for us and we retaliated with a few Danish. We were in good time, so we went through the city. Elisabeth was just a walk around the silversmith to order a ring. We also reached a refreshment on the waterfront. We were warmly received by the family Sy. Sy's son Phuc had made the man and another son Thien served. Other people from the city came to later. Knud, Doris, Lissi, Henning and Elisabeth took a taxi home. Thao and I cycled. We were at home at the same time. Many impression on a festive day.

We drove to Da Nang - Village of Hope in a rented car. Village of Hope is a school for the deaf, as well as a home for disadvantaged children. The deaf are taught at school, while the normal children go to school in Da Nang. The stay stops when the children are 18 years of age but to help them find work. If they are good enough, they get help to go to university. It was a Vietnamese woman who was married to an American soldier who started school after the war. The school is financed by donations from around the world, however, most US and Japan. We were received by the deputy director that we could ask questions to. It was interesting to attend classes and get a glimpse of how they learn sign language. In addition to the Danes and Thao was also Luu, her daughter Chau and his girlfriend along for the ride. Chau is deaf and has even gone to school. Her friend has never been taught. Thao is very docile, and it did not take her long to learn a lot of character. We also saw the dormitories. The children sleep two and two in the beds. There live 150 people at the school which is 20-25 deaf. Currently they also had some very old resident whose nursing home currently. was under reconstruction. Pm. 11, there is lunch, so we ate with the children in the dining hall A lunch of the day can not do it when so many invites, so we drove back to Hoi An to eat another lunch in Mao's home. Again it was incredibly delicious food. Then there should be verified clothes. Some of it was a perfect fit. The rest are cared for once again so that we can get it Sunday. We also went around the "Silver Thao" to collect jewelry. The rest of the afternoon was relaxing including by the pool. Thao had another swim hour of Lissi. She is making progress! Dinner was with Diem and Robert. Robert picked us up on the motorcycle. Thao also ran. Lissi and Doris sat back. The other cycled. There were other guests when we arrived. We had a lovely dinner on the rooftop terrace. It began to rain. In the beginning, very little, but it developed into a real tropical squall, so we moved indoors. We borrowed raincoats for the trip home. Another lovely day with many impressions.

Walk on the beach at 6:00 tomorrow. Thao and me

We started from the hotel at. 9. Mao riskagefabrik was the target. It was easy to cycle, since there are so many people on the street at the time. All seemed that his rice cakes tasted good. We got some pieces and bought some. Mao served good grates. Then we cycled around and ended up at the silver shop. Doris had directed her silver earrings. We were allowed to park bikes at Thaos shop and went sightseeing. Later we enjoyed ourselves by the pool. It was time to Thaos swim lesson - now with great donut! Thao making great progress. We also reached right to agree what we would sing for tonight's party. We were 41 for the party which 6 Danish. We started after the mandatory delay. It was an enjoyable evening with good music and singing. The Vietnamese singing old and new songs and of course Hi Chi Minh song. We performed "Come May, you sweet mild" and "Where the forest, however, is fresh and great." Especially the last one was a success for the familiar cuckoo and thought it was fun to sing along to "kuk kuk" component. The party ended at. 23rd

My day in Hoi An always starts with going to the beach at. 6 in the morning. The others would rather sleep late, so it was only Thao and me. Now is the last day here in Hoi An. Tomorrow is the Hue. We drove to An Bang beach. We had a beautiful trip there. The peasants working in the rice fields, so we made photo stops. We were early promotion to the beach and got good seats. The waves were high, but all got himself into the water. There was lunch at noon. 12, and then it went back home to the hotel. Later we picked up the last thing in the tailor, and then we saw the old merchant. Hoi An has previously been a major trading center, where the ships came from many countries. Unfortunately sandy fairway to as the ships could not sail into more, the merchant's house had to move to Da Nang. Thao demonstrated his ability to juggle for a special shuttlecock, which she "tamer" with your feet like a football player. The flowers for the hostess of the evening was downloaded and afterwards there was relaxation. There was much to Le Loys home but with two motorcycles and cyclists with good night vision, it was not a big problem. All thought it was exciting to eat sitting on the floor. Another lovely day was over. Tomorrow we depart for Hue right after breakfast.
