Sunday, April 14
At 6:30 we went to a neighboring hotel for breakfast. It's hard to stay at our hotel by car because of vearbejde. So we went to Huoung and Hops house. When we no bagade had could all be Hops car. We drove to the Cu Chi tunnels. Mona and Knud was down in the tunnel crossings. Over all, in Vietnam we are reminded of "American war." Vietcong captured Sydvetnam 4/30/1975 and this day is celebrated every year. Today we get a tour of the Cu Chi, spot near Saigon, where the Vietcong tunnels built for defense and warfare. Cu Chi tunnels built by the Vietcong during the French occupation, but greatly expanded during the American war. It must have been a hell for both Vietnamese and Americans, when you see all the ways you could slaughter each other. There is approx. 250 km tunnels. Where the tunnels was that there were no trees and shrubs. Americans threw orange poison, so all vegetion disappeared. But no one thought of it also killed people. Today, there are many children who were born after 1975, when the war was over, which also has problems with hearing and legs. It was interesting to see these tunnels. We visited map the former Presidential Palace. We drove on to the Cao Dai temple / church. There were so many people. Cao Dai religonen is a mixture of Christianity, Hinduism and Budism. Dert is a meditation religion with special music. We ate in Tay Ninh, where the host has a daughter Tam in Denmark. I got a bit of a shock when they came to what we would have to Denmark. They take advantage of me, so I need to talk to Tom when I get home. Jump drove us to the train station. Hops car + 1 taxi. We got a quiet train journey. Everyone slept well on the train.
